Products Download

The task fetches the product catalogue from TriData into TRADElube, and not just the articles: categories, manufacturers, images, properties and prices come along, because TriData keeps them on the article. It is the channel's largest task and the only one that also tidies up at the end.

What gets transferred

For each article in TriData a product is created on your side, for each color and size combination a variant below it. The combination finds its parent article through that article's channel mapping, so the execution queues the parent articles before the combinations.

Categories and manufacturers are created along the way. TriCon delivers a category path as text and the manufacturer as a name on the article. TRADElube creates from that whatever is still missing and hangs the tree under the Root Category from the channel's configuration. So there is no task of its own for categories or manufacturers.

Stock does not come along. It has a task of its own, see Stocks Download, so that a change in stock does not drag the whole product record with it.

The task's own configuration

Two checkboxes, and both decide about the tidying up at the end of an execution. TRADElube then determines which products, categories, manufacturers and images came from TriCon and are no longer there.

The difference between the two is the one place where this task needs your attention. The reason lies outside TRADElube: if a full upload from TriData into TriCon breaks off, TriCon is empty for a while, and a deleting execution would consistently pass that state on into your shop. Deactivating can be undone, deleting cannot, which is why only the one runs by itself. The long version is under Vollupload und Bereinigung.

The Common section also carries two renewal times instead of one: Product Renewal Time and Image Renewal Time. An image changes less often than an article and weighs more in a transfer, which is why it stands at Never out of the box.

How the transfer plan is built

One plan, but eleven sections, making it this channel's largest. The section bar runs beyond the width and is paged through with the arrows at its ends.

Four sections are worth a second look, the other seven are right as soon as the channel's mappings are.

The Selection section decides what enters your client. As a source for the Condition row, TriData's entries that allow a sensible split are available: the article classifications 1 to 3, the Matchcode and the order quantities. An article is recognized through its product number. The row Existing Item carries With Product Number for that: TRADElube looks for the product with this number in the client before creating a new one, so the task also runs against an existing catalogue without duplicating it.

The Images section has three variants, and the choice is among the few nobody can make for you. Link remembers the address at TriData and does not download the image, Import fetches it into your media library, Disabled leaves images out entirely. Linking is more frugal, importing makes you independent of that address staying reachable.

The Prices section has the variants Net Price, Gross Price and the same two again per customer group. You choose per tab whether the delivered amount is entered as a net or a gross price. The two customer group variants are only available where your client works with TriData's customer groups.

The two property sections are built, like the plan of Properties Download, from the channel's Color/Size and Product Attributes tabs. You enter nothing there but map in the channel. The tabs then appear by themselves.

Special features and limits

The parent article has to be there before its combinations. A combination finds it through its channel mapping, and that is only created with its transfer.

A drop of 20 per cent or more halts the transfer. TRADElube counts the records from TriCon per area, and where their number falls that far from one execution to the next, that area transfers nothing further until you have acknowledged the alarm. What you change on a product taken over is overwritten by the next execution. The catalogue is maintained in TriData. The fields you want to keep yourself you take out of the plan by removing their tick.
