Prices
A price group is the compartment a price sits in on the product. You reach the list through the Settings navigation entry and the Prices button.
A product carries as many prices as you have set up groups, each group with a section of its own on the product. Why prices are held this way instead of as a single field is described under prices.
Overview / list
A new client comes with four groups, one each of type Purchase Price, Sales Price, Special-Offer Price and List Price. Their names are preset and yours to change, and you create further groups yourself. In the image the fifth row, Trade price, is one of those, created for commercial customers.
Five buttons sit above the list. New creates a group, Edit opens the selected one, Delete removes it after a confirmation. Move Up and Move Down move the selected row by one position. They are grayed out where there is nowhere to go in that direction, in the image Move Down on the last row.
The list shows three columns:

Sorting follows Position, and that order is not cosmetic: the price sections on the product appear in the same order, and a new order item takes its price from the first group of type Sales Price. Moving a group up therefore changes both.
The prices go with the group. Deleting removes the price rows of that group on every product, without a further confirmation and without a way back. A group you no longer need is therefore better left standing empty than deleted.

Name and type are two different things. The name is your label, the type tells TRADElube what the group stands for. That is why two groups may carry the same type: the supplied Retail price and a self-created Trade price are both of type Sales Price, and both count wherever a sales price is needed.
Four values are on offer.
The type shows its effect most clearly in the transfer plan of a task. For a price field of the target system TRADElube offers the groups whose type fits it: for the sales price of a Shopware product the groups of type Sales Price are on offer, for the purchase price those of type Purchase Price. A group with another type can only be filled there through an assignment by script.
That is why the type sits next to the name at all. A target system does not know your labels. It knows a field for the sales price, and TRADElube has to be able to say, without your help, which of your groups even come into question for it.
