Media Download

The task fetches the images from the Shopware shop's media management into TRADElube. It does not read the whole media library but exactly one folder, and you decide in the transfer plan whether TRADElube merely links the files or genuinely takes them over.

What gets transferred

For every file in the folder that is read, TRADElube gets a medium with a file name and a source. A medium holds no more than that: name, external source URL and creation date, see media.

Exactly one folder of the shop is read. Without an entry of your own that is Product Media, the folder Shopware brings along itself. If you want a different one, pick it in the transfer plan. The drop-down shows the shop's folders.

The link to a product is not made here. Which image belongs to which article comes with Products Download. This task only creates the files that can later be referred to, and therefore runs first.

How the transfer plan is built

The plan consists of a single section and therefore carries no tab bar: one choice and three assignments sit directly in the Transfer Plan section.

The choice sits above the assignments and decides what happens to the file:

Link TRADElube only remembers the file's address in the shop. The medium stays as available as the shop is, and the data sits in one place only
Import TRADElube fetches the file and keeps it. The medium is independent of the shop afterwards

Import is not available in every client. If the Import Media function is missing, the check on saving says so. Write to us in that case.

Assignment State
Name Mandatory. The shop keeps file name and extension apart, and the assignment puts both back together through a prepared script
Source Mandatory. Takes the file's address in the shop
Special Folder Switched off. A fixed value, picked from the shop's folders

Name is this channel's only assignment with a script supplied. The reason sits in the shop: there, file name and file extension are two fields, while in TRADElube a medium's name is one. The script joins the two with a dot between them. If you want the names built differently, a prefix per supplier for instance, this is the place for it.

Special features and limits

The preset renewal time is Never, unlike on the channel's other tasks. An image file rarely changes under the same name, and reloading a few hundred files regularly costs more than it returns.

Cleaning up happens only on a manual start, and the confirmation names the number of media that no longer exist in the shop. If there were deviations during the execution, the clean-up is skipped entirely, and the message Clean Media Skipped says so.

Whatever sits outside the folder read is invisible to the task, including for the clean-up. An image somebody moved into another folder in the shop counts as gone for this execution.
