FAQ

Short answers to the questions that come up most often when working with TRADElube. Every answer links to the page that covers the topic in full.

Access and getting started

How do I get access to TRADElube?

TRADElube is a pure B2B platform. As a business you register an account at app.tradelube.com, and we then create the client after talking it through with you. The whole path is described under Access and client, the contact options on the introduction.

Can I use the interface in English?

Yes. You switch the interface language at the top right, independently of the languages you maintain your product texts in. How TRADElube keeps the three languages apart is described under Access and client.

Why can I not create or delete channels or tasks?

Creating and deleting is done by us. The reason: a task running before it is fully configured would write into a foreign system. Configuring, meaning login details, schedule, transfer plan and filters, is your side. Background under Tasks, the scope of the service on the introduction.

Products and data

How do my products get into TRADElube?

In three ways: through a channel to your ERP system, as a file import through the custom channel, or by hand in the product management. The import path is described in Importing products from a file, manual maintenance in Creating and maintaining a product.

Can I add fields that do not exist in TRADElube?

Yes, as properties. They come in seven types and exist on all six main objects, so on orders, customers and media too. How they work and how they reach the channels is described under Properties.

How do I model articles with variants?

A parent product carries its variants, and the axes of choice, color and size for instance, are option properties. The path is shown in Creating variants.

What is the difference between an assignment, a mapping and a channel mapping?

Three different things. An assignment is a line in the transfer plan: where a value comes from and where it is written to. A mapping is a value pairing between external and internal for pick lists, payment methods for instance. A channel mapping is the permanent link between a record and its counterpart in the connected system. The third is explained in Channel Mappings, all terms are in the glossary.

Channels and transfers

Can I connect several shops, even of the same type?

Yes. Channels of the same type can be connected several times, each with its own configuration and its own tasks. The basics are under Channels.

When does a transfer run?

You set that on the respective task, in the field Performance, from a fixed cadence to manual starts. TRADElube transfers only what changed since the last execution, and the Renewal Time refreshes the data at intervals even without a change. Details under Tasks.

Why does a task report that there was nothing to do?

Because nothing changed since the last execution. That is the normal case, not an error: the effort follows the changes, not the size of the data. A manual start additionally picks up everything that failed last time. Background under Tasks.

I changed something in the shop by hand. Will it stay?

Not necessarily. As soon as TRADElube registers a change to that record, it is fully reconciled with the shop again, and the manual change can be overwritten. Fields you want to maintain in the shop can be excluded from the transfer, talk to us about it. The details are explained in Synchronization basics.

When something is off

A product does not appear in the shop. Where do I start?

With the product's channel mapping and its traces. The guided path with the most frequent causes is under Product does not appear in the shop.

Price or stock do not match. How do I narrow down the cause?

Through the traces of the affected record: they show which value was delivered and which was handed over. There is a guided path each under Price does not match and Stock does not match.

What does the state Failed mean, and what do I have to do?

A record did not go through, and the message names the cause and the remedy. The transfer stays open and is picked up again the next time until it is through. How to read the messages is described under Understanding error messages.

Can I check for myself what was transferred?

Yes, per record and field, including the states before. How to follow a discrepancy back to its cause is shown in the traces guide.

Service and operation

Who sets up the channels, and what does that cost?

The configuration of the channels and tasks is included: tell us what you would like implemented and how, and we set it up. What this service covers is on the introduction.

Do I have to install updates?

No. TRADElube is a cloud solution, upgrades run automatically, and we coordinate larger ones with you. More on the introduction.

How do I reach support?

By e-mail to info@ffe-tech.com. What a good support request brings along, so the analysis can start right away, is described under Contacting support.
