Properties Upload
The task transfers the options of your selection properties into the shop, meaning the individual color shades, sizes or versions. It runs before Products Upload, so that a product can name the value already present in the shop.
What gets transferred
For each option of a mapped selection property a term is created in the shop, under the matching product attribute. The task sends name and position, and the position decides the order in which a customer sees the values in the shop.
TRADElube does not create the attributes themselves. In the shop a product attribute is a list of its own, and that has to be there first. So the way is: create the attribute in the shop as a selection, map it in the channel's Properties tab, save, then run this task.
The task sends only what is mapped. A selection property without a counterpart in the Properties tab does not even show up in this task. Nor do properties of other types, meaning text, number or boolean: they have no options to transfer.
How the transfer plan is built
One plan with a single section Properties, holding one tab per mapped property. Every tab carries the same three assignments:
| Assignment | What it does |
|---|---|
| Attribute Id | Names the product attribute in the shop through the channel's mapping. Mandatory |
| Position | The option's order within its attribute |
| Name | The text the customer sees in the shop. Mandatory |
The tabs come from the mappings rather than by hand: what sits in the channel's Properties tab sits here. So there is little to individualize. The one case where it pays off is a name meant to read differently in the shop than in the client.
Special features and limits
A property you take out of the mapping gets cleaned up in the shop. The next execution removes the terms that belonged to it. That is intended, and it is the reason why the mapping and not the plan decides what sits in the shop.
There is no other direction. You maintain the shop's attributes in the shop and their options in TRADElube.
