Products Upload

The task lists your products as offers at eBay and keeps them up to date there. It is this channel's only task writing anything into eBay, and so it carries everything an offer consists of: category, description, images, price, shipping and item specifics.

What gets transferred

Per product one offer is created. Along with it go the product number as the item's identifier, the EAN, name and description, every image of the product, the sales price, the shipping entries and the properties mapped on the channel.

Which products go up is decided by the category. A product comes along when it sits in a category below the Root Category set on the channel, that is in one of the categories Categories Download fetched from eBay. Where a product sits in two such categories, the first becomes the offer's primary category and the second its secondary one.

An offer already present at eBay is taken over rather than duplicated. TRADElube first looks there for an item with the same product number and remembers it as a channel mapping before creating a new offer. So you can connect an account already running offers, as long as their item identifier matches your product numbers.

How the transfer plan is built

One plan with seven sections. The tab bar above them is longer than the screen is wide: the arrows at its ends scroll it along.

Transfer plan of the products upload task with the scrolling section bar and the rows of the Listing section

Section What sits in it
Listing The entries eBay demands on the offer itself: Country, Postal Code, Listing Type, Listing Duration, the two categories and the goods' condition
Common Product Number as the item identifier, the EAN and the payment methods
Description Name and Description, each language version as a source of its own
Media The address eBay picks an image up from
Price The sales price and the currency
Shipping Shipping service, shipping cost and the three time entries
Properties One tab per mapped property, holding the item specific's name and value

The rows in the Listing section apply to all offers of this task alike, and most of them you set once as a fixed value. Listing Type and Listing Duration come from drop-downs. The duration ranges from one day to Unlimited.

Condition Id is mandatory and decides which condition your goods are offered in. The row knows two paths, and choosing between them is this section's most important decision.

Preset is Mapped Condition, so every product decides for itself. The row takes one of your selection properties as its source, and which one you set in the channel's Conditions tab, see eBay. There you map each value of that property onto an eBay condition. Whoever lists new and used goods through the same task needs this path, and without a filled tab no product goes up.

The link As Fixed Value below it leads to the alternative: one condition for all products of this task. The drop-down carries the conditions eBay knows, from New through Used to For parts or not working. That is enough as long as you list new goods only, and it saves you the property.

Which conditions are allowed in a category eBay decides: the refurbished conditions require a qualification process, and Seller refurbished is no longer allowed in many categories on several marketplaces, the German one among them.

Condition Description is the row beside it and is unticked out of the box. It carries the text with which you describe the condition of used goods more closely, for instance Leichte Gebrauchsspuren am Gehäuse. Available as sources are a fixed value, a script and each of your text properties. The property is the path by which every product brings its own description along. For new goods you leave the row unticked: eBay ignores it there and answers with a warning.

The two category rows fill themselves. Their source is the channel mapping Categories Download created, and the secondary category stays empty where a product sits in one eBay category only.

In the Price section you pick one of your sales price groups as the source. TRADElube sends the gross price of that group's first price row, because a marketplace shows end-customer prices. The currency stands beside it as a fixed value.

The Shipping section is the place where individualization pays off. The shipping service comes from the channel's Shipping Services mapping tab. Shipping cost, shipping time and the handling time take their values out of the box from the product's delivery time and shipping cost. Whoever wants to calculate instead reaches the product's width, height, length and weight through an assignment by script, which are available there as additional sources. That turns a flat rate into a price fitting the parcel.

The Properties section carries one property per tab, and which ones those are you decide on the channel rather than here: they are the selection properties from the Properties tab, see eBay. The tab itself holds two rows, the specific's name and its value.

Special features and limits

The task runs only when you start it. That holds for every task of this channel, in full under eBay. So a price change reaches your offers with the next execution you trigger.

Variants do not travel along. Per product one offer is created, and a product with three sizes becomes one offer with one price. Whoever wants to sell the sizes separately keeps them as products of their own.

TRADElube sets the quantity to 1 on creation and does not touch it afterwards. There is no stock keeping through this channel, in full under eBay.

Images need a reachable address. TRADElube sends eBay no file but the reference to the image in your TRADElube installation, and eBay fetches it from there. Where the installation is not reachable from the internet, the offer arrives without an image.

The description comes from one language version rather than all of them. The plan offers a source of its own per language version, and you pick the one your offers are to appear in.

The manufacturer does not travel along. The offer holds no field for it, and this channel has no task for manufacturers.
